Get to know Krishna Patel

Krishna is a qualified food technologist graduated from University of Auckland in 2009. She became interested in helping business with their food compliance in 2015 – right before an important law change.

“I was working with my husband importing and distributing confectionary and other shelf products,” Krishna says. “There were suddenly major compliance changes to the Food Act – which I found our customers didn’t know much about, let alone how to get themselves compliant with these new laws. Most of the Four Squares have their own processes, but independent retailers, small food manufacturers and takeaway shops didn’t have many resources to call on at all.”

So Krishna became a go-to Food Act compliance resource; setting up an advisory business called Arrowpoint Consulting, and writing and compiling The Operators’ Book and The Log Book to provide guidelines and checklists.

“My customers say these things have really helped them to know every three months they’re supposed to do this check, and every six months they have to do that one,” she says. “I get lot of good reviews saying ‘this was the easiest audit I ever had’.”
